- Candy Corn mangoes are medium-sized, very sweet, and have a true mango flavor. They are a chance seedling selected by the Zill High-Performance Plants nursery. The fruit has an Indochinese-type flavor, with a defined tart-component that fades as the mango becomes riper, transitioning to a syrupy sweetness with note of "cola". The flesh is completely fiberless, yellow, and has a rich flavor.
- Candy Corn mango trees are grafted from a high quality fruit-producing tree grown in Homestead, Florida with the benefits of subtropical weather. The trees grow somewhat slowly, with a compact and dense growth habit. In a 3 gallon container, the tree is typically 12–18 months old.
- Some say that Candy Corn is supersweet, but without any deep flavors or complexity. Others say that it has a nice tropical flavor to it, and is similar to Namdak.
